⚠️ In-App Browsers

In-app browsers often cause problems! If you opened the interview link from inside an app like Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, or email, you may be using an in-app browser with limited functionality.

How to Tell If You’re in an In-App Browser

Signs you’re in an in-app browser:
  • The URL bar looks different than usual
  • You see the app’s header/controls at the top
  • You can’t access browser settings or bookmarks
  • Microphone permissions don’t work

How to Open in Safari or Chrome

From Instagram/TikTok/Facebook:
  1. Tap the (three dots) menu
  2. Select “Open in Safari” or “Open in Browser”
From Email (Gmail/Mail app):
  1. Tap and hold the link
  2. Select “Open in Safari”
Alternative:
  1. Copy the interview link
  2. Open Safari
  3. Paste the link in the address bar

Common In-App Browser Issues

Performance Suggestions

On slower devices, you may see a suggestion to switch to your phone. This happens when:
  • Your device is running low on resources
  • Many background apps are open
  • Your device is an older model
Option 1: Use your phone
  • Scan the QR code shown (if on desktop)
  • Or open the interview link on your phone
  • Modern phones handle real-time audio very well
Option 2: Close other apps
  • Quit unused browser tabs
  • Close other applications
  • Restart your browser
  • Try again
Option 3: Try anyway
  • Dismiss the suggestion
  • Continue with the interview
  • If issues occur, switch to phone

Before starting your interview:

Use Safari or Chrome

Make sure you’re using one of the two supported browsers.

Update Your Browser

Use the latest version for the best experience.
  • Chrome: Menu → Help → About Google Chrome
  • Safari: Update via macOS/iOS Software Update

Close Other Tabs

Close unnecessary browser tabs to free up resources for the interview.
